Even though it rained on St. Patrick's day, Aaron took Jacob to the parade downtown. Just can't pass up free candy! Sam fell asleep on the way down so he and I stayed in the car. After the parade we went to the State Historical Museum for an Irish Festival. They had "Irish" crafts like decorating a shammrock shaped cookie, and making a penguin puppet from a lunch sack. Jacob and Sam were most entertained by the kids corner that is there year-round: trucks and tractors for visitors to play with. I must say though that Sam is our little dancing machine. If he enjoyed anything more than tractors it was dancing to all the music!

Especially for my dad--stay tuned! When I can I want to add a video of a piper playing. I had never seen one before but its so cool the way they play. They use their arm to blow air into the pipe with a bellow and all the while their fingers go crazy making a tune that sounds as if its coming from more than one instrument. I was pretty impressed!
Here is that cool video. I love listening to it. Brings back memories of my dad's favorite "Thistle and Shamrock" radio program!
This isn't one of those penny whistles, though he played that also. It has such a light happy tune I felt like clicking my heals like a leprechaun! Fear not--I refrained.
