I returned from Stake Priesthood Meeting tonight as the boys were in bed going to sleep. Jacob asked me what the Bishop told me at my meeting. I explained some of the things the Stake President had talked about, including prayer, and Jacob and I knelt down and said a prayer. Then I went over to Sam's bed and we knelt down to pray. Sam's prayer was so beautiful and sincere. I'll have to paraphrase... "Dear Heavenly Father, we're so thankful that I didn't have any bleeding, or sickness, or seizures today...I'm happy I was blessed with oil on my head..." This went on for some time. It was one of those moments where I wish I had had a tape recorder so as to remember every word. What an example of how we should pray. When he finished, Sam said: "Now we snuggle and we talk." He asked me to tell him a story. He's always the main character. I usually talk about a great adventure, but today I told the story of his most recent seizure and the blessing he received from myself and Brother Hagelstein, one of our home teachers, since this seemed to be on his mind, and how God had helped him. Then he said that we can't go on an airplane anymore because he always gets sick (when Sam was younger he had an episode of emesis all over Rebecca on one of the many flights he has been on), and how we need to drive from now on. I assured him that we will be driving to Washington to see Grandma and Grandpa Richardson in one month...and that it will only take three days of driving. Can't wait for those three days... Our children are such a joy.

go to the dollar store and get silly a puddy and do not show them until the trip. For olivia it was hours of fun but a little messy, go in her hair and cloths as she fell asleep with it. lol.
what a little sweet heart. It makes me so sad that he has had to go through so much at such a young age. ...And Aaron, emesis?? Come on. I had to look it up. I know you're a Doctor now but can't you just say "vomit" so all the rest of us know what the heck you are talking about. :) I'm kdding ya. It was a good learning experience for me. ...I didn't know you guys were driving all the way to WA! That will be a long trip. We are SO looking forward to seeing you all!!
