Yea! We finally met our little nephew (and Aaron's birthday buddy) Nathan. My sister Rachel and her husband Dan were able to come for a few days and show off their cute 3 1/2 mo old baby. I admit, this was a while ago now, but I am now catching up. When they first arrived Jacob was still taking a nap and before he woke up Rachel and co. decided they would get some rest too. (They were staying in Jacob's room and Jacob was napping on the couch.) When he woke up, Jacob saw Dan peek his head of the room, and Jacob in a panic flies down the stairs crying,"there's a man in my room! there's a man in my room!" We reminded him that it was Uncle Dan and he relaxed. But Rachel got a kick out of the whole ordeal! He absolutely loved all the attention from his aunt and uncle while they were here.
The first day they got here we went to a BBQ/pool party for all the incoming residents. Sam was pretty cute as he ate his cookie on the stair.
Jacob had a lot of fun playing with uncle Dan in the pool. (Oh yeah, and Dad too!)

We walked around the Riverwalk and reminisced about our family trip here 20 years ago. (Rachel remembers a lot more than I do.) Dan was kind enough to go on a joyride with Jacob up and down the elevators! Here's more of Nathan!

Nathan is such a sweet baby! He is so happy (I even got him to laugh with a classic game of Peek-a-boo) and he almost never cries! What a great kid! Sam was fascinated by him and just wanted to touch him. He kept his distance at first, but then inch by inch moved in closer while mouthing the word "baby, baby" over again. When we tried to get a picture of him holding his little cousin though, he would not let go of his truck mat. So we have one of him pointing out the different trucks to Nathan instead. Jacob liked holding Nathan a lot. When we were taking the pictures above he kept drawing my attention to the way he was resting his cheek on Nathan's head.
Even though it was a short trip, it meant a lot to me. It was so nice to spend some one on one time with my sister and her family. Jacob and Sam loved every ounce of attention. They always wanted to be near one of them and would follow them around or ask, "Where's Aunt Rachel?" or "Where's Aunt Rachel's Dad?" Poor Dan! I love this last picture of them reading. It seems to illustrate the special time they had with their aunt and uncle and baby cousin (hidden). I couldn't have asked for a better visit!
